Being Woman With Chhavi

WHY IM DONE CHASING REACH.

Let’s play a quick game of truth or dare.
Truth: When was the last time you watched a perfectly polished, hyper-edited, highly aesthetic video on social media and actually felt a deep, memorable connection to the person who made it?
Chances are, never. You probably scrolled past it three seconds later, completely forgetting what you just saw.
Yet, creators and marketers are still hopelessly obsessed with a single metric: Reach.
We are told to chase the algorithm, hop on the latest trending audio, cut our videos into three-second hooks, and present a flawless, curated version of our lives just to get more views.
But here is the unfiltered truth: Numbers can be manipulated, but truths cannot.
“Reach” has become the ultimate vanity metric of the digital age. A video can go viral and get a million views because of a catchy song or a controversial headline, but if those million people click away without feeling a single thing, that number means absolutely nothing. It is empty data. It’s vanity masquerading as impact.
I am completely done playing that game. And honestly? I think the audience is tired of watching it, too.
When everything is curated, everything starts to look identical. The same filters, the same generic advice, the same rehearsed scripts. We’ve traded genuine perspective for superficial perfection.
That’s exactly why I started my podcast.
I didn’t want another show where guests show up with a PR-approved list of talking points. I wanted to put people with completely opposing, messy, raw life experiences in a room together and let the cameras roll. No scripts. No right or wrong answers. Just real human perspectives that clash, connect, and breathe.
Because the only metric that actually matters – in business, in podcasting, and in life – is depth of connection.
I would rather have a hundred people who listen to a podcast episode, deeply resonate with a perspective, and walk away looking at their own relationships or lives differently, than a million generic views from people who are just numbly scrolling through their feeds.
We don’t need more curated content. We need more Candid Confessions. We need people who are brave enough to drop the guard, stop catering to what an algorithm wants to see, and speak with absolute honesty.
The next time you are creating something, writing a post, or even just sharing a piece of your story with someone else, I challenge you to ask yourself: Am I doing this to be widely seen, or am I doing this to be deeply understood?
I choose depth every single time.
Tell me in the comments: What’s a piece of “unfiltered” advice or a raw perspective you’ve been holding back because it doesn’t fit the standard narrative? I want to hear it.
If you are going through any kind of trouble in life, if you feel like you need someone to talk to but are too shy to speak up, use this anonymous feature to send me a message.
